Welcome! I’m a robotics researcher working on the topic of robot perception. I hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Artificial Intelligence from Cornell University where I was advised by Prof. Mark Campbell.
At SilC, I focus on perception tasks for FMCW LiDAR across a range of operational distances. For short-range industrial applications, I have developed algorithms for extrinsic LiDAR calibration, enabling key tasks such as dimensioning and defect detection. For long-range detection, I lead simulation efforts to replicate the statistical noise characteristics of extended objects, facilitating the generation of training data for learned algorithms.
Before discovering sunshine in Southern California, I was shoveling through Boston winters at NODAR, leading perception efforts for long-range autonomy using stereo-cameras. I was the lead inventor of NODAR’s object detection technology, GridDetect.
